Ceramic bowl handmade in Aotearoa by Alex Jones.
Alex hand-builds his pots from iron-heavy stoneware clay. The exterior of this bowl is decorated by the ash and soda landing on the bowl during two firings. The interior of the bowl is glazed with a cobalt celadon, created with the intention of it running and pooling in the low points of the bowl.
Alex Jones is a potter from Maungarei (Mt Wellington), Auckland. Alex is focused on building barely functional pots with a sense of personality. Each pot is built to have an opinion and contribute to the spaces they inhabit.
